Good architectural style is often characterized by cohesion. The architect chooses just one or two motifs and thoughtfully executes them throughout the house. This home is a great example of this kind of consistency.
The front gate and exterior wall of the property hint at one of its motifs - simple, clean lines. As you enter the front yard, you’ll be welcomed by a well manicured garden with vines and tasteful landscaping. The lovely arched windows in a repeating pattern are the second motif which we’ll see echoed inside.
Downstairs features an open floor plan. The living room is comfortably sized and overlooks the side yard with patio and grass. It also includes some nice architectural details like several nichos for displaying your favorite art and more arched windows.
Between the living room and kitchen is a dining area that also has a view to the yard, as well as a fireplace and arched entry into the kitchen.
The kitchen has been recently renovated and boasts traditional Mexican tile in a brilliant cobalt blue. Cabinets are plentiful and there is also an additional pantry. Double sinks, an island with more storage and a bar all add to this kitchen’s functionality. A large arched window over the sinks brings in additional light and makes the kitchen even more pleasant. And, should you want to add a dishwasher, all of the connections are already prepared for easy installation.
In addition to the powder room, you’ll also find an en suite bedroom on the ground floor, located just off the living room. The three windows bring in lots of light and you’ll appreciate the fireplace on cold winter mornings. It has its own private patio, as well as independent access through the back yard, making it especially convenient for houseguests.
The second floor really maximizes every inch of space. At one end is the master bedroom, similarly laid out to the guest bedroom below and including a spacious bathroom. This bathroom boasts double sinks and a stylish window for added light and ventilation. The second upstairs bedroom includes two large arched windows and an adjoining bath.
Between these two upstairs bedrooms is a spacious, sunny area currently purposed as a family room. It includes multiple windows, a fireplace, and a terrace. Of course, it could also be transformed into a library or home office.
Finally, there’s the huge rooftop terrace. It has three different areas: the loggia, which is a covered patio perfect for when you want to be outdoors but sheltered from the elements. In front of the loggia is an open area for lounging, and on the side of the house yet another area with views to the surrounding countryside. Clearly, you can host a grand party up here, spread out, and have lots of fun.
A few other elements worth noting… in addition to the extensive kitchen renovation, each one of the bathrooms has been renovated and features beautiful Mexican tile in traditional colors and designs. Secondly, the property has yard on three sides, so the home is exceptionally sunny. And, because it’s in Los Frailes, you’ll enjoy a peaceful neighborhood mostly free of commercial businesses, but still be just a short distance from restaurants, groceries stores, etc. Finally, amenities include a laundry area, water purification and alarm system.
